What did you do before deciding to be a contractor?

I was a manager for a produce market during and after high school. I then attended the local junior college majoring in business and accounting. Later going to work for Quanta's Airlines as a shift supervisor for cargo air freight which allowed me to travel. It was a good job and I made friends which I am still in contact with. I was just not satisfied so I  began carpentry work as a handy man, learning all the aspects of the building trades.  In 1973 I partnered with a general contractor and learned to design as well as the finer points of building homes. I then became a Licensed general contractor designing and building for clients as well as buying building and selling my own  homes.

Building Philosophy:

To eliminated stresses for the clients by building a quality h ome or structure that will have no negative product failure for the life of their home.  Designing a building incorporating the clients ideas  and determining a budget and paying close attention eliminating surprises. To be proud of what I build knowing the client is happy with their decision to let me build their new home or addition.

Where did you grow up?

Born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA  on a farm.  We lived what is now called a sustainable life style.  We only had to buy some basic like flour, sugar, rice, coffee or tea.  We raised our own animals and grew our vegetables, and had every kind of fruit tree available to us.

What was your life like growing up on a farm?

I had  a happy, fun, healthy life.  Living on a farm was a great experience.  I learned problem solving from  a young age and started my building career training then thinking back.  We built our own buildings  and  structures as needed.
